Black Rooster Salt Box – JP3265

I have combined two old German Styles for the decoration of this piece.  Portrait is Bäd Tolz style.  Decoration is Röfsler style.  The beautiful piece is a reproduction (with a size change) of an old salt box by Bev and Chuck Canty.

Napthol Red Light
Indian Red Oxide
Purple Madder
Red Violet (optional)
Yellow Orange
Marigold (or Mustard Seed)
Moss Green
Vines
Teal Green (optional)*
Med blue mix (Storm Blue + Prussian Blue Hue 2-1)
Unbleached Titanium
Rich Gold
Fruitwood or Danish Pine stain, or inside color of choice.
*You can mix a Teal Green from Marigold + blue mix.

Brushes:
Jo Sonja’s Sure Touch
#3-4 round, #6 filbert – Basic Painting.
#2 short liner – Lettering, fine details.
#0-1 Kolinsky liner (JS 1330) – Fine details, tear drops.
#2 striper – Stripes.
